Sevens: how a round works

Check the rule below as you play. Play every card to four suit sequences that expand outward from their sevens. Start a new round when you are ready to try again. A standard deck is dealt to four players, thirteen cards each.

Four-player free Sevens with three local computer opponents. This table uses the seven-of-diamonds opening and low Aces.

One thing to notice as you play

The board gives you the information needed for the next action. Extend the low end or high end of an open suit by one rank. Aces are low below twos; kings are the high end. The game area remains available above the explanation.

Your goal

Begin with the basic rule, then follow the result of your action. Play every card to four suit sequences that expand outward from their sevens. Start a new round when you are ready to try again.

The steps to play

  1. A standard deck is dealt to four players, thirteen cards each.
  2. The holder of 7♦ must play it first. Other suits can open with their own seven.
  3. Extend the low end or high end of an open suit by one rank. Aces are low below twos; kings are the high end.
  4. Play a legal card whenever possible. Passing is allowed only when no card fits.
  5. The first player with an empty hand wins the round.

Keyboard and screen controls

The example and rules describe the same game you can play above. Tap an enabled card from your hand. The suit rows show cards already played. Use Pass only when it is enabled. Try the rule on the board, then read the next instruction.

Where a round can go wrong

The board gives you the information needed for the next action. A matching rank in another suit does not extend an existing row. Every suit has its own sequence.
